Turtle Creek Kids Objectives
To promote positive relationships among children and teachers who are warm, welcoming, observant, knowledgeable and patient, which encourages children to feel safe, to be in a position to benefit from learning experiences, to learn to get along well with others,
to enjoy their time here and to thrive.
To establish relationships with families based on mutual respect, trust, mercy,
collaboration and communication.
To be a part of TCK families support system with regular information about their child’s time here, their strengths and needs, and available to encourage parents through
their valleys and celebrate with them through mountaintop moments.
To implement a play-based curriculum that promotes learning and development in the following areas: social, emotional, physical, language and cognitive, which is incorporated into daily routines and which sparks the interest of children and staff, a curriculum which orbits around the developmentally appropriate philosophy that children’s work is play.
To create a physical environment that facilitates joy, comfort, health, learning and safety -
a special place that feels like a home away from home.
To employ teachers who take seriously their responsibilities that children and families receive the highest quality of care and experiences free from discrimination of any kind
and who are able to communicate this to families.
To consistently work on betterment of our skills and to stay abreast of current research
in the best ways to support children’s growth and development.
To show appreciation for and support the teacher’s noble work through respect, encouragement and by being as generous as possible, whenever possible, and to model the understanding that professionals who work with young children must take care
of themselves since one cannot pour from an empty pitcher.
To incorporate our authentic selves into our teaching: modeling kindness, enthusiasm, resilience, curiosity, self-control, and to share our passions in learning, books, music, art, cooking, science, health, nature and more with children.
